lovesit: wrist candy

(What I have on today from left to right: Good Charma, Chan Luu, Tiffany Atlas Cuff)

After I get dressed in the morning, I don’t feel like my outfit is totally complete until I’ve decorated my wrists with the right amount of bling and baubles.  I love loading on bracelets; mixing and matching old ones I’ve collected over the years with new ones, as well as mixing up different textures and materials, from silver, to gold, glass and wooden beads, to leather wraps and waxed linen (a la Dogeared.)  Each one has a little story, a memory and adds a personal touch to any ensemble.  I’m always buying new types of bracelets and I don’t think I’ll ever have enough.  Lately, I’ve been on a silver kick to compliment a new watch I was gifted and I love the way sparkly, delicate bracelets contrast my older, chunkier silver pieces.  Here’s a list of really pretty bracelets, from delicate (my current favorite) to funky that add just the right amount of sparkle and girliness to any collection.

Heavy Metal

The jewelry by Giles & Brother is a perfect balance of edgy yet feminine baubles.  They offer a spectrum of mixed medium rings, necklaces, bracelets, cufflinks and key rings made up of materials such as brass oxide, silver oxide, gold oxide, swarovski crystal and leather.  Some of the tougher looking, hardware inspired pieces like the but & bolt cuff (also available as cufflinks for him), railroad spike ring and tiny musket necklace are great options for anyone wanting a bolder statement piece.  My personal favorites, also a favorite of Theory are their multi strand necklaces which make the perfect accent piece for an outfit consisting of mostly blacks and neutrals (basically my daily uniform.)

charm candy

finding the perfect jewelry additions for your no-nonsense daily uniform of bling can be overwhelming, or rather never-ending If you’re like me and you are constantly swapping jewelry pieces in and out of the rotation.  However, I find there are several pieces I wear daily no matter what’s going on my neck or fingers.  I’ll never leave home without my menswear inspired Michael Kors watch (available here ), my cc pearl drop earrings  seen here  …. and several pieces from my favorite bracelet sets.  Here are some bracelets I love, look great mixed and matched (most come in both silver and gold-plated) and can be stacked onto your arm to compliment each other as well as any other jewelry you might be wearing.

Crocodile Tears bring Joy

I first noticed the playful yet chic necklaces of Boston-based jewelry designer, Crocodile Tears while doing a little window shopping in Boston’s North End.  Since then, I’ve really become addicted to their neutral tone statement necklaces that can be worn with anything- dress, jeans, work, play.  Always looking to expand my jewelry collection with creative, up and coming artists’ pieces, I recommend checking them out next time you’re in the mood to add a little bling to your jewelry box.
